Progress Report

So its been a little quiet on the blog of late. This is mainly due to our workload increasing somewhat and time not being my friend. It’s wonderful being so busy and feeling creative, but it’s also frustrating when you don’t get the time to do all you want to. We launch in Manns of Cranleigh in just under 3 weeks, (it makes me a little anxious just writing that as reality hits) and i’m at that point where I just hope we are going to get it all done in time. We will because we have to, but it’s going to be a race against the clock and there will be some very long days in the next few weeks. Next week we have to get all the display furniture and signage in place and then we can concentrate on finishing all of the many brilliant goods going into the space. We did a mock lay out on Monday so I feel a little more confident about how it will look. It’s difficult getting the balance right though; you don’t want it to look too cluttered or too bare. Hopefully we have, but we won’t properly know until we lay it out for real. There are lots of other things still to sort too, for example marketing materials, copy for e-newsletters, the website etc. Plus we are doing a fab promotion in the first few weeks so need to put all the info together for that. Alongside all of this we still need to keep the website fresh and add new goods. This is something I need to concentrate on next week as we have lots of brilliant goods waiting in the wings ready to find new homes.  To say I have a lots of hats on at the moment is an understatement. The joys of a start up business. John is being his usual brilliant self and juggling his ‘day job’ with my many Blue Ticking requests. Much of his spare time is spent in the barn creating and trouble shooting furniture issues. It’s really wonderful working with him, though i’m sure he wishes there was an HR department at times when my demands go into over drive!!!! And lets not forget that our eldest, Miss Edith, starts school in September; must get my head in that space. It’s true when they say there is never a dull moment! I did have some time off today when my bestie Emily and her daughter came for the day. Great friends are truly precious and the best tonic. Really can’t wait for you all to see the concession when we launch on the 1st September. Get the date in your diary 🙂
