Spring has sprung (hopefully!)
It’s official, I love Spring! Not just because it feels lighter and warmer, but because it makes me want to venture outside and do stuff. Whilst we have had a few sunny days already, yesterday was the first day we could all get out in the garden and enjoy it as a family. High up on Edith’s ‘to do’ list was to make mud pies. Having grown up on a farm where mud was in abundance this used to be one of my favourite activities too. Happy to continue this tradition we both got stuck in.
Edith took me through the various ingredients that were required and I was sent off to fetch daisies and water! She and I really were in our element.
Miss Maggie joined us after her afternoon siesta and things got very messy very quickly! Numerous cups were bought outside and soon we had progressed from pies to smoothies. Yummy!
It was great seeing them enjoy something so simple and good honest fun.
Whilst this was all happening and after finishing some Blue Ticking tasks (!) John decided to embark on making a go cart; as you do! So far we have one set of wheels and a base! Another progress report to follow soon!
Bring on more afternoons like yesterday.
